LSP Delivery Board Up and Running

The first meeting of the new LSP Delivery Board took place on Monday 19 December. This board will meet every 6 weeks. This board is made up by 10 members from across the city. The members are made up from both the private and the community/voluntary sectors.  The members include Councillor Lavery, Kim Ryley (Hull City Council), Sean White (Divisional Police Commander), Chris Long West Hull PCT), Mark Willett (MKM Building Supplies), Paul Sewell (Sewell Group), Kath Jones (North Bank Forum), Peter McGurn (Goodwin Development Trust) and Andy Dorton (Church of England). LSP Interim Director

Hull City Council has appointed Malcolm Green as the Interim LSP Director until April 2006. Malcolm is a Neighbourhood Renewal Adviser who has been working with the LSP for the last 8 months. The LSP Director post will be advertised shortly and it is hoped the new LSP Director will be in post by spring 2006.

Music Works in Hull wants you!

Music Works in Hull is a CVS project that uses music to build up self esteem for those who, for social, economic or other reason find themselves excluded from Society. This project would like to get some new members to its steering group to help maximise its effectiveness.

LSP City Partnership Meeting

The first meeting of the new City Partnership will take place on Wednesday 25th January 2006. The City Partnership will oversee and scruntinise the work of the LSP. The voluntary and community sector has 10 places. The private sector has 10 place and the public sector has 10 places.  The next City Partnership meeting will be held on Wednesday 26 April 2006. 

Neighbourhood Renewal Funding Update

NRF funded projects for 2005/6 are currently being evaluated by the LSP. The final evaluation report will be available late January 2006 and the LSP will make individual recommendations about withdrawal or continuation of NRF support for each project. The LSP are developing a commissioning process for NRF 2006/7 funding. The plan is that commisioning of interventions to tackle the City's Floor Target priorities will take place between March and June. New NRF projects for 2006/7 will begin on 1 July. 

Living, Learning and Working: A Community Strategy

The lastest draft of Hull's Community Strategy was presented to the LSP Delivery Board and will be discussed on 25 January at the City Partnership meeting. Living, Learning and Working will set the strategic direction for Hull. It will be used as a framework for decision making and will guide spending decisions by all partners in the LSP. Move towards Neighbourhood Management in Hull

The City Council have agreed eight neighbourhood management pilots in Hull. From April 2006 services covering housing, community safety and street scene (clean and green space) will be delivered through the pilots and by April 2007 all council services. The eight pilot areas are: North Bransholme, Preston Road, Ings, Orchard Park, Thornton Estate, Derringham Bank, Newland/Sculcoates, NASA.

Adult Learners Week Awards

Help your learners get the recognition they deserve by nominating them for an Adult Learners' Award. There will be a selection of awards for individuals and groups, family learning and project learning. The closing date for nominations is Friday 13 January 2006. Wilberforce 2007
